I want to encourage you to click and view our web site www.wagontraxx.com   I have lots of great things there for you to check out!

I also encourage you to click on the BBMA link.  The Breckinridge Bluegrass Music Association is doing such a great job in promoting Bluegrass Music.  And it’s in a NICE, CLEAN, FAMILY ATMOSPHERE!  To me, this is very important.  Their web site is: www.breackinridgebluegrass.com   Their 4th Saturday night show is help at the FIRE STATION in McQuady, KY. and every 2nd Friday night at the ROUGH RIVER LODGE in Grayson County.  The Breckinridge Bluegrass Music Association welcomes all Bluegrass music fans, musicians, promoters, and radio and TV stations that play and / or promote the preservation of this Kentucky music. The sole purpose of the BBMA is the love and preservation of BLUEGRASS MUSIC!

Until next time, may our Father bless you and keep you!

Primitives…

Nestled in the beautiful Smokey Mountains is a little community called, Candler; home of the Primitive Qt.  For the last eight years or so, the Primitives have come to Leitchfield, KY to sing and introduce many to their mountain style Gospel music.  It is always such a pleasure to see them.  I was 13 the first time my dad paid my way in to the see the Primitives.  It’s hard to find a quartet that sings and plays their music.  The Primitives are as smooth as silk!

This year’s date is March 19th, at 7:00 PM.  There is a $10 donation at the door.  Make plans now to attend this great night of Gosple music…the old traditional way!

God’s Coloring Book- The Country Gentlemen

The fall season is my favorite time of the year!  I love the cool morning air; I love the morning frosts and most of all I absolutely love fall colors.  They are truly like God’s coloring book.  A few years ago, the Country Gentlemen released a song entitled just that; God’s Coloring Book.  I had never heard the song until the Sugar Hill label put it out in 1993.  It’s a great song that reminds us that God is everywhere.  He often reveals Himself through nature.

The songs says, “He is all around me, He’s everywhere I look, and each new day is but a new page in God’s Coloring Book.”   Each fall, I add the song to my playlist on Wagon Traxx.  If you have never heard it, I would to play it for you.   The Country Gentlemen have released a ton of great music over the years; I have to say, this one, is probably my favorite.

“And the more I look around me, the more that I do look, the more I realize that I am viewing God’s Coloring Book.”

Rural Rhythm Records- Class of 2010!

I believe the music a person carries in their automobile says a lot about them.   So, what’s in your ‘music store’ on wheels?  If you would ask me, I would have to say, “BLUEGRASS” of course!  I carry so much music in our van that my wife placed a basket that fits snug between our front seats.  Looking in my basket today was Audie Blaylock’s new CD called, Cryin’ Heart Blues.  Also, Lorraine Jordan and Carolina Road’s Carolina Hurricane.  Plus, a CD from Set Apart from Doyle Tennessee called, Faithful God and a few others.  I would have to say, nine times out of ten times my music basket contains CD’s from the Rural Rhythm label.

Just this year alone I have received new music from Lou Reid and Carolina, Lonesome River Band, Steve Gulley and Tim Stafford, The Darrell Webb Band, Common Strings, Bill Emerson, and the Bartley Brothers.  Plus, a compilation CD called, Look To The Light with fourteen great tunes.  The label that stands behind their brand, Rural Rhythm, keep me totally supplied and current in today’s Bluegrass!  These are only a few of their 2010 releases.  You can visit their web site at www.ruralrhythm.com and purchase some of the best Bluegrass music in the world and many of the songs you hear on Wagon Traxx.    I’m already looking forward to 2011’s releases from Rural Rhythm Records!

Audie Blaylock and Redline

I don’t know about you, but I love to hear music that takes me back in time to my childhood.  The new CD by Audie Blaylock and Redline called, Cryin’ Heart Blues, contains a great arrangement of Bluegrass cuts.  Produced by Audie, and contains thirteen great tunes for you Bluegrass lovers.  Cut # 9, Pray The Clouds Away, is one of those songs that I heard in my younger years; Jimmy Martin and Paul Williams wrote the song.  I have to say that this is one of the best arrangements I’ve ever heard.  The harmonies are sung so uniquely and the music is so precise.  Pray The Clouds Away is a song of hope that says, no matter how tough things may get, we can talk to the Lord and things will eventually get better.  We can pray those clouds of doubt away.  I have been playing the song on Wagon Traxx now for a few weeks and folks love it!  Another great Gospel tune on the project is, “He Is Near.”

I give ‘a thumbs up’ to: Audie Blaylock, Evan Ward, Patrick McAvinue, and Matt Wallace and engineer Scott Vestal for a job well done!
